In my country, China, the most important festival is Spring Festival.
Like the Christmas in Candada, all of people in Spring Festival get a free time to shopping and take a rest, and most importantly, it's a good chance for whole families to celebriting.
Usually, on the Spring's eve, parents will ask their children to paste couplet on the wall in front of their houses, which including a left-couplet, a right-couplet and a banner on the toppest position. Besides, we still need a converse word "fu" in the middle of the door. In English, "fu" means blessing, and a converse "fu" means "good luck" will come to your house.
After pasting couplet on the wall, usually the family will seat in front of TV for waiting for the TV program of Spring Festival. What's more, most of families will light up firecracker if it's possible.
Finally the new year has come, and it's time for people to pay a visit to their relatives and friends. Normally we will take gifts to the people we visited, and they may give back money to the visitor's children.Therefor, chirldren will feel happy for they can collect money.
This is my favorite festival in my country, i am missing it so much though i am in Canada.

We have Holiday in our country Called Feter Eid (it comes after Ramadan) the family visiting each other and they give money to children too.
